Sostenibilità

La pietra è il
materiale lento
originario.

La pietra naturale è tra i materiali da costruzione a più basso impatto di carbonio disponibili. Non richiede cottura in forno, sintesi chimica né leganti a base di petrolio. Una lastra di pietra è semplicemente la terra, tagliata e rifinita.

92%

of our tonnage is shipped by sea, reducing carbon per ton-mile by 84% compared to road freight.

100%

of quarry waste (scrap, slurry, offcuts) is recycled into aggregate, road base, and landscaping material.

30+

family quarries we partner with, all operating under local environmental regulations and rehabilitation plans.

Stone doesn't need
to be manufactured.
It needs to be respected.

Every block we move carries the weight of the mountain it came from — and our responsibility to leave that mountain and its people better than we found them.

How we make
sustainability measurable.

Carbon

We prioritize sea freight — 84% less CO₂ per ton-mile than road transport. Our partner quarries in Turkey and Tunisia operate on hybrid solar-grid energy, and we offset the remainder through verified reforestation programs in the Mediterranean basin.

Target: Net-zero Scope 1 & 2 by 2030.

Water

Water is the lifeblood of stone processing. All of our partner facilities use closed-loop filtration systems — recycling up to 95% of water used in gang-saw cutting and surface finishing. Slurry is pressed into filter cakes and repurposed as raw material for concrete block production.

Target: 100% closed-loop across all suppliers by 2027.

Waste

Nothing we extract goes to waste. Overburden becomes aggregate for road construction. Offcuts are transformed into tiles, vanities, and landscaping products. Slurry and sludge are processed into building materials. Even our wooden crates are sourced from FSC-certified forests and reused when possible.

Target: Maintain 100% landfill-free operations.

Community

Every quarry we work with is family-owned and locally operated. We ensure fair wages, safe working conditions, and long-term rehabilitation plans that return quarry sites to their natural state. Our direct relationships eliminate the exploitation often hidden in multi-tier supply chains.

Target: 100% of partner quarries with published rehabilitation plans.

From mountain to
reclamation.

01

Source

Blocks selected for maximum yield, minimal waste. Quarries operate under local environmental regulations with binding rehabilitation commitments.

02

Cut

Water-efficient gang saws and diamond wire technology minimize energy use and slurry generation. 95% of process water is recycled.

03

Finish

Low-VOC sealers and natural finishes. No chemical brightening or resin filling. The stone's surface is simply revealed, not altered.

04

Ship

Carbon-optimized sea freight with minimal, FSC-certified packaging. Consolidated containers reduce per-slab transport emissions.

05

Return

At end of life, natural stone returns to the earth — crushed into aggregate, ground into soil amendment, or repurposed as architectural fill.

Our sustainability
journey so far.

2015

First partner quarry transitions to solar-powered operations, reducing grid dependency by 60%.

2018

Zero-waste certification achieved across all Turkish partner facilities. 100% of quarry byproducts now recycled or repurposed.

2020

Closed-loop water filtration implemented across all processing facilities. Water recycling rate reaches 95%.

2022

First comprehensive carbon footprint audit published. Baseline established for Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions across the supply chain.

2024

Blockchain-based traceability pilot launched. Every slab now carries a digital passport documenting its origin, processing, and carbon impact.

2026

Net-zero pathway published. Committed to 50% reduction in Scope 1 & 2 emissions by 2030, with full offset of residual emissions.

"The most sustainable building material is the one that has been here for 200 million years — and will still be here 200 million years from now."
